Privacy Policy

What are Cookies?

Many of the websites that you visit place small text files on your computer. This enables the website to recognise your computer each time you visit. We call these text files ‘Cookies’.

We have three types of Cookies:

Type 1: Essential Cookies

We use these Cookies because they are essential for saving settings or preferences during your visit or until your next visit to the website. Without these Cookies, it could be difficult for you to use this website.

Were this website to contain a log-in function, an authentication Cookie would be placed on your computer to identify the user once he or she has logged in.

Type 2: Statistical Cookies

Like most website operators, GPO.wiki collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. GPO.wiki’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how GPO.wiki’s visitors use its website. From time to time, GPO.wiki may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

GPO.wiki also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. GPO.wiki does not use such information to identify its visitors, however, and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information, as described below.

Type 3: Online Ad Serving Cookies

When you visit our Web sites, Goole Inc. use the service Google AdSense to serve some or all of the advertisements on our sites. Often, these advertisements may employ cookie and pixel tag technologies and collecting information to measure the advertisements' effectiveness. Google may use information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to our and other web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services that may interest you. As part of our relationship with Google, we do not provide them any personally identifiable information. Tracking technology utilized by Google is subject to their own privacy policies. If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices about not having this information used by Google, click here: http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

How long will Cookies be stored?

We will not store Cookies longer than is necessary for the purpose that the Cookie was placed. Most of the Cookies we use are so-called ‘session Cookies’. This means that these Cookies will be deleted once you have closed your browser. Some Cookies may be stored for a longer period, for example when you specifically request that we remember your log-in username, your preferred language settings or other preferences. Google Analytics Cookies are stored for up to two years in order to be able to undertake long-term analysis of the use of the website

How to block Cookies

You can block Cookies via your web browser settings. More information on how to change the settings can be found on the website of the web browser that you use. It is also possible to opt-out of Google Analytics. If you wish to do so, please visit the Google Tools website and download and install the appropriate add-on for your web browser. The Google Analytics opt-out add-on is designed to be compatible with Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox and Opera. The website functionality will not be affected by opting out-of Google Analytics.

Privacy Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be modified from time to time. Any modifications to our Privacy Policy will be reflected on this page. If there is a significant change, we will indicate it on our sites and provide a link to the new policy.
